I always love how you guys keep things fresh and new w/ the meat of the discussion. 🙂 Kudos.
Re Twi vs HP (longer-term fandom): I will add that I think Twilight might have more of a long term appeal bc no matter the supernatural elements, at the heart of it is a love story. And I think that’s a bit more poignant and sticks w/ people longer. Oh and its dripping w/ sexual undertones and sexual appeal, where as HP is lacking in that area methinks. Speaking of… Melissa, I got a kick out of your question to Christen. Like, really? Edward or Harry? Bwhahaha! No contest baby! Edward all the way for me too!
Also…
I totally understand the sentiment that BD’s ending of no one kicking the bucket could be a kind of anticlimactic let down. But don’t you think it was kind of a surprising ending? I mean, at least it surprised me. I was expecting someone… ANYONE to die! At least a few Volturi members. In that regard, SM created the element of surprise for me personally. And hey, if she ever chooses to go back to Twilight; whether it’d be continuing E&B’s story (highly highly doubtful) or elaborating on any of the other character’s stories – there’ll still be the antagonists left to cause conflict. But yeah, won’t hold my breath on any of that! I’m still waiting on Midnight Sun! >:( *sigh*
Happy to hear more commentaries are coming! 😉
